New oak boards woven into an older floor during a repair

Subfloor repair in North Windham, MEFix what’s underneath before it shows on top.

Soft spots, squeaks, rot and damaged boards repaired so your new or refinished floor sits flat and solid.

Subfloor repair

A floor is only as good as what holds it up.

Soft spots, bouncy areas, squeaks and old water damage usually start below the surface. We open it up, repair or replace the damaged subfloor, and make it flat and solid before any finish flooring goes back down.

In older homes we also weave replacement boards into the existing floor, so a patched area disappears once the room is sanded and finished. One customer’s 1953 pine floor had newly patched areas beside painted and worn ones, and after refinishing it all looked brand new.

A customer, word for word

★★★★★

Tony and his crew did a fantastic job refinishing our original pine floors from 1953. We had a mix of painted, worn and newly patched areas that they made look brand new. His team of professionals were polite, trustworthy and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. They gave us a fair price, started within the week and completely the project promptly. I’m looking forward to working with them again…

FAQ

Subfloor repair questions.

Why do my floors squeak?

Usually boards or subfloor moving against loose fasteners. Re-securing them often quiets it, and we find the cause before we fix it.

Do you fix water-damaged floors?

Yes. Once the water source is fixed, we replace the damaged subfloor and boards and blend the repair in.

Will the patch show?

Not once the floor is sanded and finished together. Replacement boards are woven in, not dropped in as a square.
