Hardwood floor refinishing in North Windham, MEWorn floors, sanded back to new.
Scratches, gray patches, tired orange finish, even paint: we sand it off, repair what needs it, and seal the wood so it shines again.
Refinishing
Most worn floors don’t need replacing.
Solid hardwood can be sanded and refinished many times over. If your floors are scratched, dull, water-marked or buried under an old yellowed finish, there is usually good wood a fraction of an inch down. We sand to clean, bare wood, then build the finish back up in the color you pick.
That goes for oak, for the wide pine boards found in older Maine houses, and for floors that have been painted, patched or ignored for years. One customer had original pine from 1953 with painted, worn and newly patched areas side by side, and after the crew was done it looked, in the customer’s words, brand new.

A customer, word for word
★★★★★Tony and his crew did a fantastic job refinishing our original pine floors from 1953. We had a mix of painted, worn and newly patched areas that they made look brand new. His team of professionals were polite, trustworthy and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. They gave us a fair price, started within the week and completely the project promptly. I’m looking forward to working with them again…
FAQ
Refinishing questions.
Can every hardwood floor be refinished?
Solid hardwood usually can, several times over. Some engineered floors have a thin top layer that only takes a light sanding, so we check yours at the free estimate.
Can you change the color?
Yes. Sanding takes the old color off, so you can go lighter, darker or keep it natural.
Can you match new boards to the old ones?
Yes. When boards are replaced or a section is added, we weave them in and refinish the whole floor so it reads as one.
